Jones Beach

We stopped off at Jones Beach on our way out on the island for Thanksgiving. The beach in the winter time has always been one of my favorite places to photograph. Here’s Olive and Sarah walking along the lonesome coast.

Election Day 2008

solo record

Caleb and I began working on Images for his solo album. This was the mock up for my first pitch to him. We concluded that the image doesn’t fit the album and decided to head in a different direction. I won’t ruin the surprise.

new series?

I drove around for about 8 hours yesterday trying to strum up some inspiration. Ive been thinking for a while about a series that has kids driving cars. I drove up into Pennsylvania for a while and back down into Maryland looking for some nice windy country roads. All in all it was a pretty disappointing day, but here’s one image that surprised me when I got back home. it could make for a nice chase scene. As an added note I have to mention how much i’m enjoying Smugmug’s software for the iphone. It allows me to take a shot during a scout and upload it to my Smugmug account with my longitude and latitude coordinates embedded into it. That should make it easier to find my way back when it comes time to shoot.

Take 2

My Brother in Law asked me for a print of this image, so here it is cleaned up. The original stitch had sloppy shorelines etc.

The Maine Media Workshops

I spent a week in September learning about the narrative portrait from Amy Arbus. If you ever get the opportunity to attend the Maine Media Workshops, I highly recommend it. It’s one of those environments just overflowing with creativity.
